Lion Cub Splashdown

17th October 2009
During a drive one afternoon i came across 2 lionesses and their 3 cubs. They had just killed and partialy eaten a Warthog. Usualy after a hearty meal the big cats find the closest water source to quench their thirst. So i headed off to the closest drying up lagoon to wait for them to come.

After a while i was rewarded by the adults and cubs approaching the lagoon. the lionesses drank first and then the cubs approached but from the other side of the small lagoon.

The cubs then realised they had to cross to the adults, instead of going around they took the most direct route and tried to leap across. The photos show what happened!
